Heritage Resources

What was it like to live in Crewe in the past?

These resource packs are crammed full of facts, images, maps and activities to find out more about Crewe’s heritage. Take a look to discover:

  • What it was like to live in a Railway Cottage in 1845
  • Why the Crewe Factory Girl started writing to the newspaper
  • What jobs women did during wartime
  • A hidden factory that helped win the Second World War
  • How life was different growing up in the 1960s

Who are they for?

These packs are for everyone!

Packs labelled "EYFS and KS1" are easy to read and have easier activities, while packs labelled "KS2 and beyond" have more information and more complex activities.  We have also included curriculum links at the bottom of the page for teachers who use the resources.

We hope you enjoy learning about Crewe's past!
