When the Soapbox Derby came to town: Crewe Krazy Races July 2024!

Crewe Town Council teamed up with touring soapbox festival organisers Krazy Races to bring a Soapbox Derby event to Crewe on Sunday 14th July 2024 as part of the Crewe Day celebrations. We all had a FANTASTIC day, with everyone coming together to have fun and cheer on the soapbox karts whilst raising money for local charities at the same time.

The intrepid teams started their downhill descent on Ford Lane, before taking a sharp right hand turn bend onto Broad Street and zooming down past Brooklands to cross the finish line just before Badger Avenue.

Within Brooklands, organisers created an event village with local food traders, family entertainment and a large event screen for families to sit with picnics and watch the action.

BBC’s Blue Peter also attended to film and take part in the races!
