White Ribbon Day 2024: It Starts With Men

Thank you to everyone who attended the White Ribbon event in Crewe Market Hall for White Ribbon Week 2024. A number of local organisations gave advice and support and raised awareness of the White Ribbon UK initiative, which aims to end men’s violence against women and girls:

The Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Crewe (Councillors Dawn Clark and Sally Graham) were also in attendance, as well as Cheshire Police and Cheshire Fire Service.
Local community organisation Creative Crewe decorated the Market Hall with white ribbons for White Ribbon week.

White Ribbon Accreditation

In November 2023, White Ribbon Accreditation was granted to Crewe Town Council for its commitment to support the White Ribbon UK campaign to end men’s violence against women in the workplace and local community. We are committed to raising awareness about this serious issue and have formed a small steering group consisting of Officers, Councillors and external bodies.

As part of our activities, we have produced a range of posters and stickers which have been designed to be distributed to local businesses and placed on the back of bathroom doors. These were delivered around Crewe by Cheshire Fire and Rescue, who are also a White Ribbon accredited organisation.
