June 2022 marks Her Majesty the Queen’s 70th year of service, becoming the first British monarch in history to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee.
An extended bank holiday running from Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th June will provide an opportunity for communities across the United Kingdom to mark the occasion.
Crewe Town Council has developed a programme of Queen’s Platinum Jubilee inspired activity – alongside our partners – running throughout summer from May 2022 – September 2022.

Union Jack bunting – 23rd May to 5th September 2022
Crewe Town will be decorated with Union Jack Bunting and Queen’s Platinum Jubilee lamppost signage on the following streets:

Commemorative Tree and Plaque for all Crewe Schools
All schools within the Crewe boundary will receive a Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Tree and plaque, with schools encouraged to organise a tree planting ceremony with their pupils.
Be a Queen! (in partnership with Crewe Library) – 28th May to 4th June 2022 – FREE!
Calling all Crewe Queens! Shimmy down to Crewe Library where you can decorate a crown, join in with a special jubilee storytime and take part in games and craft activities.
There will be royal-themed fancy dress for you to try on – so don’t forget to dress up in one of our finest regal outfits and take a picture on our royal thrones! Share your picture using #CreweJubilee2022.
Saturday 28th May 10.00 – 12.00pm – Royal Decorate a Crown – Kings & Queens for the day
Come along to Crewe Library between 10.00 – 12.00pm and create and decorate your very own crown to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s Jubilee. Take a selfie on our special royal thrones and feel like a monarch for the day. Share your royal snap for a chance to win a royal prizes!
Monday 30th May 10:00-11:00 – Special Jubilee Storytime and Royal Decorate a Crown or handbag – Kings & Queens for the day
Come along to Crewe Library between 10:00-11:00 for a very special royal story time. We will be performing The Queen’s Handbag by Steve Antony no need to book. There will also be the chance to make your own queenie handbag or create and decorate royal crown. Take a selfie on our special royal thrones and feel like a monarch for the day.

Friends of Queens Park Jubilee Event – Friday 3rd June 2022 / 11am – 6pm – Free Entry to the Park!
Crewe Town Council is very proud to be a sponsor of the Friends of Queens Park Jubilee community event, taking place on Friday 3rd June 2022 from 11am – 6pm.
Featuring live music from Tumblin’ Dice and the Gospel Truth Soul Band, over 60 stalls and attractions, a fancy dress parade (be a Queen or a King for the day!), Paws in the Park dog show, plus food and drink outlets.
