28th of July saw the launch of a fresh initiative for Crewe: the Super Saturday event #InCrewe. Crewe Town Council, the Market Centre, Everybody Sport and Recreation, TheCat107.9FM and Cheshire East Connected Communities worked together to add some fun (and colour) in the town centre.
500m of colourful bunting flags welcomed the people into the lovely Victoria centre, where the event partners put on great music, magic bubbles, football matches, free boxing (trial) lessons and body building/fitness exercises. Great fun was had by all!
The Army, Crewe Photographic Society, Action on Cancer, One you Cheshire East, South Cheshire ABC have been active partners of the event and helped to promote the importance of an active and healthy lifestyle for everyone.
Cllr Brian Roberts, Mayor of Crewe Town Council comments “We believe it is vital to promote and improve health and wellbeing in Crewe, and we were delighted with how well the community event was received”. Brian continues “I want to thank the Market Centre, Everybody Sport and Recreation, TheCat107.9FM and Cheshire East Connected Communities for helping us bring another fantastic event to Crewe. As well as partners, I also wish to thank all the community groups that came along during the day to add some fun”
“These kind of community events are vital for our Town’s wellbeing. They add colour, freshness and positive noise. The Town Council is proud to support them and would invite groups to come forward with any new events ideas or projects in town.”
