Many will recall that friends from Macon attended the Remembrance Day ceremonies back in November. Council has received a letter from M. Bernadet which is reproduced below. Macon is a wonderful town at the heart of France and well worth a visit. If any of the community do visit Macon next year then please post some pictures.

I should be most grateful if you could, on my behalf, kindly convey my warmest wishes for the end-of-year celebrations and for the New Year 2019 to the Mayor, his deputies, the Town Councillors and all those who spared no effort in welcoming us, including you yourself, whose English rendering of our public addresses enabled our heartfelt sentiments to stir the congregation.
It would be a real pleasure for me to welcome you to Mâcon and to give you a guided tour of my Citizens` Memorial Museum (from 1870 to the present day). England features prominently in the museum: there is an extensive collection of police headgear (530 badges and other insignia) from all over the world, including numerous exhibits from England, alongside which which it should be possible to display the “insignia set in stone” bestowed on us by your Town Council.
Once again, my sincere thanks. I look forward to welcoming you (to Mâcon).
