“Forging History: 180 years of the Crewe Works” exhibition officially opened!

The Crewe Works 180 exhibition was formally launched yesterday (on Crewe Day!) by the Mayor of Crewe (Councillor Dennis Straine-Francis) and the Chairman of the Crewe Heritage Trust (Gordon Heddon).

The proceedings began with The Rhymeologist (Gareth Williams) reading his poem about the Works, “More than a Workplace”.

Gordon Heddon spoke about the importance of the Works and its impact on Crewe as the catalyst for the development of the town we know today.

The Mayor recognised the contribution to the exhibition by the local community and passed on his thanks.
