Christmas Lights switch on event makes its return

The annual Christmas Light Switch On event returned to Crewe this year, with a full day of family-friendly festive activities!

The Switch On event took place on Saturday 26th November 2022, with activities taking place throughout the day between 11am and 6.30pm.

Letters were written for Father Christmas at Crewe Library before being posted in the twinklingly festive Christmas Post Office in Christ Church courtyard. Magical balloon-blowing elves entertained visitors to Crewe with their cheeky antics!

The main stage outside the Municipal Buildings hosted a range of community and local entertainment, from choirs to Crewe Alex football players, Bake Off tributes to brass bands – and not forgetting to mention the Crewe Lyceum Youth Theatre performance and local singing superstar Oli Ng.

At the pinnacle of the show, Father Christmas and the Crewe Town Mayor (Councillor Nan Walton) turned the lights on, accompanied by paper cannons and Slade.
