Lyceum Square is a new cultural community space in the heart of Crewe town centre that is available for community groups to book and use for events, activities and to showcase their talent.
It’s home to a state of the art stage and screen that can be used for performance, film screenings and more.
Lyceum Square is perfect for small-scale events, due to its location in the centre of Crewe. It neighbours well-established cultural assets such as Lyceum Theatre and the popular food and beverage venue Crewe Market Hall.
Owned and managed by Cheshire East Council, the Square, previously a car park, opened in June 2023 and saw the space transformed into a multi-use creative community space aimed at providing opportunities to engage with arts, culture, performance and creativity.
The vision for Lyceum Square was developed by the Crewe Cultural Forum – a collaboration of residents, organisations and businesses in Crewe. The space aims to enhance the setting of the Lyceum Theatre and Crewe Market Hall and create a cultural heart for the town centre.
If you would like to run an event or activity in Lyceum Square, you will need to submit an application to Cheshire East Council to use the space.
Depending on the size of your event you may also need to close the road. You can find out more about this on the Cheshire East Council website.
Toolkits to support community use of the space will be uploaded soon!
