A Network Rail contact has provided the update below with regard to the roadworks and bridge repairs:
‘Our work is currently progressing on time and this weekend, we will be continuing to remove sections of the southern roadside wall, which will be rebuilt over the weekend of 13-14th February when there will no trains running underneath. From the 13-24 February, the Crewe to Manchester line will closed for 11 days, which will allow us to safely undertake a £17 million package of refurbishment works to a series of assets, including Hungerford Road bridge.’
