Council Leader, Kevin Hickson took to the heights of Crewe today by ascending the ‘Big Bill’ Clock Tower via the five sets of ladders within the heart of the tower. Fortunately the weather was fine and the views magnificent. Mow Cop, Beeston Castle, Jodrell Bank and a variety of other land marks were clearly visible. The purpose of the visit was to survey the tower to check out whether it was possible to fly the new Town Flag from the highest point in the Town. Cllr Hickson said ‘It looks like the flag can be flown, the flag pole needs a lick of paint, but is in reasonable repair, we now have permission from Savills the managing agents and really appreciate their support. It will be great to see the flag flying as a symbol of the pride we all share in our Town’
