The Council has a vacancy for a Personal Assistant to the Council, initially payment will be made at the Living Wage, this will be subject to review at the end of the probationary period. A general description of the role is set out below.
The role involves providing administrative support for the Mayor and the Town Clerk. As such the key skills are the ability to manage diaries, prepare letters and handle customer enquires. The use of office-based software is essential to being successful in the role. The Council is a small organisation and as such all employees work on a variety projects and it is likely that the person appointed will have considerable involvement with the organisation of events in the Town.
The Council would welcome applications from persons wishing to take up the post on an apprentice basis.
