As Mayor of Crewe I would like to extend my condolences on behalf of the Town to the family, friends and work colleagues of the gentleman who died of injuries whilst working on the building site at Stoneley Avenue. I have today (20th July) visited the site and handed a wreath to site representatives in order that it can be placed at a respectful location on site. As someone who has worked all my life in this industry I know only too well the dangers such sites can present. Such tragedies bring back painful memories to me as an individual and I cannot imagine what the family will be going through. I hope we all will keep in our thoughts those who have been affected by this incident.
