Crewe Town Council is deeply saddened to learn the passing of past Mayor, Maurice Jones
Councillor Benn Minshall, Mayor of Crewe, has asked us to share these words
“Maurice devoted over 43 years to public service as a Councillor at both Borough and Parish level. He demonstrated passion, a wealth of knowledge and a huge commitment to both the people and the community of Crewe
Maurice was an ardent supporter of many things but I personally had the pleasure of spending many enjoyable occasions with him in his capacity as a member of Crewe and Nantwich Twinning Association (CANTA) where he contributed great wisdom and fraternal principles to the Towns international friendships with France, Germany and Poland
On behalf of Crewe and the Town Council, I would like to take the opportunity to extend our deepest condolences to Ann and the family and our heartfelt gratitude for allowing us to share a warm, kind, funny and passionate man”
