Manchester Bridge update from NetworkRail

The Council has received the following update on the works in Crewe:

  • On Sat 9th April, we relocated our temporary site welfare unit and stores during the temporary road closure and part completed the trackside joints. We switched the one-way traffic management from the south side over to the north side, and we also removed the existing copers from the parapet of the north wall. All the red and white water filled barriers were drained and removed from site.
  • On Sat 16th  April, we completed the sealing works to the south parapets. We also completed all the drilling works to the north parapet and further progressed the brickwork reinstatement during the railtrack possession.
  • This week, we have removed the independent scaffold and continued in our preparations to install the kerbs.
  • On this coming Sat 23rd April, we will start to install the new steeple copers onto the north parapet, as well as further progress the brickwork reinstatement (under the existing arches and under new south cills).

Could the Council thank everyone for their patience.
