Free master class with Wayne Hemingway MBE – Tue 12th November 6.30pm
What does Crewe mean to you? How is living and working here affected by how others perceive the town? Where is Crewe going, how will we get there as a town, and who do we want to tell along the way?
These are just some of the questions that we are going to answer over the next few months as stakeholders and communities help develop a new place-brand for Crewe in partnership with our consultants HemingwayDesign.
First of several activities is a launch event on Tuesday 12th November at 6.30pm, at Crewe Alexandra FC, when Wayne Hemingway MBE will deliver a masterclass in place-branding and introduce you to the team and process.
Wayne is one of Britain’s most influential multidisciplinary designers. He started out creating fashion label Red or Dead with his wife Geradine, building it into a global brand before selling it and establishing HemingwayDesign which helps its clients create great places through the application of quality design – in branding, urban planning and architecture. Current and recent place-brands include MediaCityUK, York, Middlesbrough and Longbridge, Birmingham. As part of their approach to regenerating places, HemingwayDesign also produces exciting and bespoke events and festivals inspired by the places where they happen – such as Vintage by The Sea (Morecambe), First Light Festival (Lowestoft) and The Festival of Making (Blackburn).
Join Wayne at 6.00pm for 6.30pm at this free event to hear about why cities and towns up and down the country are getting into ‘place-branding’, what is good practice and what isn’t and how we ensure that Crewe’s place-brand is powerful and distinctive.
