Saturday 25th April will see the first Town Trail sponsored by Crewe Town Council.
The Trail has been developed in conjunction with the local U3A History Group and Crewe History Society and will trace the history of the Town Centre.
The Trail will be led by the Mayor of Crewe and local historian Mike Christelow and will feature how the Town developed and some of the fascinating people that made it happen.
Mike Christelow said “Despite perceptions to the contrary Crewe still retains a significant part of its industrial heritage, and traces of that history can still be widely found today. The Town Trail is a fascinating way to explore some of this history! “
The Trail will leave Memorial Square at 10.30am on Saturday 25th April and will last approximately 1 hour. In lieu of tickets for the Trail, we are request that a donation is made on the day to the Mayor’s Charities – Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity, Churches Together in Crewe Night Shelter and Central Cheshire Buddies Scheme.
The Town Council hopes that this will be the first of many Town Trails with the next being planned for Open Heritage Days in September. If anyone would like to place a group booking before then, please contact Crewe Town Council.
