Latest Crewe Town Council Community Grants – fourteen awards made!

Crewe Town Council has announced the latest successful submissions from the Community Grant Scheme. The Council allocates funding and grants up to £2,500 to community organisations for projects and activities that directly benefit the community within the Crewe Town Boundary.

An impressive fourteen grants were approved from the latest round of applications. The grants will be awarded to a range of community groups, including allotments, choirs, activity clubs and support organisations. The awards will go towards regeneration, events for Crewe, sport development, combating social isolation, improving facilities and tailored support for families with young children and lone parents.

The Crewe Town Council Community Grant Scheme is open for applications throughout the year, with quarterly submission deadlines for applications to be considered by the Community Plan committee.

The next deadline for applications is Sunday 8th May 2022 at midnight.

Ruby’s Fund

Amount awarded: £1,300

Project name: Butterfly Group  –   Community Play Project

Project aims: to help new families overcome isolation and bring them together with a regular parent and toddler play group.


Liberty Dance Troupe

Amount awarded: £2,500

Project name: Liberty Dance Troupe (season 2022)

Project aims: to subsidise costs to parents that need transport to competitions each week and to help pay towards costumes for the new season.


Grove Singers

Amount awarded: £1,500

Project name: Mixed voice community choir – ‘Another 25 years’

Project aims: the continuation of the choir within the community.


Crewe Flyers

Amount awarded: £2,500

Project name: ‘Rising Stars’ swimming club – Aged 8-20

Project aims: to enable coaching sessions and new equipment.



Amount awarded: £2,315.92

Project name: New Holiday Villages

Project aims: to run two additional Holiday Villages in the Easter and May Half Term breaks to enable families who are unable to go away on holiday to spend time together in a positive and fun environment.


Crewe Town Allotment Federation

Amount awarded: £2,490

Project name: Allotment Community Project – Site(s) improvements

Project aims: improving sites and providing materials and equipment.


Crewe & District Military Vehicle Club

Amount awarded: £1,420

Project name: Armed Forces Day event at Queens Park

Project aims: to support the Armed Forces Day event in Queens Park.


Ruskin Road Allotments

Amount awarded: £2,500

Project name: Communal Flexible Events Space

Project aims: to provide a secure safe space where the extended community can enjoy the allotment.


Crewe Male Voice Choir

Amount awarded: £288

Project name: Fundraising concert

Project aims: to pay for a soloist, accompanist, tickets and programmes for a fundraising concert.



Amount awarded: £2,500

Project name: Summer Refresh 2022 – Sherbourne Estate Community Project

Project aims: to improve the current facilities at their bungalow on the estate and enable gardening club trips and family activities.


British Red Cross

Amount awarded: £2,500

Project name: Crewe Mobility Aids delivery service

Project aims: to enable access to a wheelchair delivery service which can prevent or reduce the need for further care.


Friends of Crewe South 1 Alleyways

Amount awarded: £2,450

Project name: Regeneration Project

Project aims: to improve the aesthetic appearance of the streets and alleyways of Crewe South which are currently littered with bins, bags and fly-tipping.


South Cheshire Clasp

Amount awarded: £2,199

Project name: ‘Here to Listen’ Specialist support for lone parents

Project aims: to support lone parents who would benefit from having someone to talk to, through weekly check-in calls.


Creative Crewe

Amount awarded: £1,000

Project name: Creative Crewe 22

Project aims: to deliver five local community events in Crewe throughout 2022.
