April showers didn’t dampen the first Town Trail that took place on 25th April led by the Mayor of Crewe and local historian Mike Christelow.
Leaving Memorial Square on Saturday morning, the Mayor was joined by around 20 local residents all keen to find out more about how the Town developed and some of the fascinating people that made it happen.
The Trail has kindly been developed in conjunction with the local U3A History Group and Crewe History Society.
The Trail helped to raise funds for the Mayors Charities – Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity, Churches Together in Crewe Night Shelter and Central Cheshire Buddies Scheme.
This will be the first of many Town Trails led by the Town Council. The next is currently being planned for Open Heritage Days in September. If anyone would like to place a group booking before September, please contact Crewe Town Council.
