FG21/1/01 Present:-
Councillors Emma Angier, Tess Buckley, Tom Dunlop, Jamie Messent, Jill Rhodes and Dennis Straine-Francis
FG21/1/02 To elect a Chair of the Finance and Governance Committee
It was resolved that Councillor Jill Rhodes be elected as Chair
FG21/1/03 To elect a Vice-Chair of the Finance and Governance Committee
It was resolved that Councillor Tess Buckley
FG21/1/04 To receive apologies for absence
Apologies were received from Councillor Joe Cosby and John Rhodes
FG21/1/05 To note declarations of Members’ interests
No declarations of Members’ interests were made
FG21/1/06 Public Participation
There were no comments or questions from the public
FG21/1/07 To confirm and sign the Minutes of the Finance and Governance Committee meeting held on Tuesday 27th April 2021
It was resolved to approve the Minutes of the Meeting
FG21/1/08 To note the Terms of Reference for the Finance and Governance Committee
The Terms of Reference were noted
FG21/1/09 To review the year to date financial position for Crewe Town Council
The year to date financial position was noted
FG21/1/10 To consider matters related to items held in storage
(Standing item until available to be addressed following removal of COVID-19 restrictions and guidance)
FG21/1/11 To review the following Governance Documents as part of the Annual Governance Review Process:-
i. Allotments Policy
ii. Standing Orders for Contracts
iii. Community and Social Policy
iv. Cookie Policy
The Governance Documents were approved and it was resolved to recommend that the amendments to the Standing Orders for Contracts be approved for adoption
FG21/1/12 To consider matters related to progressing the aims of the Council to develop projects ready for funding applications
It was resolved to recommend to Council that £15,000 be allocated from the General Reserve to look at projects which might be viable to move forward
Members discussed this matter at length and the Town Clerk was asked to collate further information can be brought back to a future meeting of the Finance and Governance Committee
FG21/1/13 To consider the budget setting process as it relates to the Finance and Governance Committee for the financial year 2022 / 2023
The budget setting process was noted
FG21/1/14 To note the date of the next meeting of the Finance and Governance Committee as Tuesday 14th September 2021
The date of the next meeting was noted
