Minutes of the Members of the Events and Culture Committee 20th May 2025.

| EC/25/1/1. | To elect the committee Chair and Deputy Chair for 2025/26 |
| RESOLVED: | |
| i. Cllr Edwards is appointed as chair of Events & Culture Committee | |
| ii. Cllr Chapman is appointed as deputy chair of Events & Culture Committee | |
| EC/25/1/2. | To receive apologies for absence |
| Cllr Mortimer, Cllr Graham, Cllr Straine-Francis | |
| EC/25/1/3. | To note declarations of Members’ interests
Cllr Mackay declared a non-pecuniary interest as a trustee of the heritage centre |
| EC/25/1/4. | To confirm and sign the minutes of the Events and Culture Committee meeting held on 10th March 2025.
RESOLVED: That the minutes are approved as a true record of the meeting |
| EC/25/1/5. | To review the year to date financial position for the Events & Culture Committee.
Members noted that due to this meeting being held early in the financial year there isn’t a financial report available at this point. |
| EC/25/1/6. | To receive an update relating to progress towards the business delivery plan as it relates to this Committee.
RESOLVED: |
| i. Members noted the update
ii. Members approved the new town centre events to be delivered across weekends during summer and autumn 2025 |
|
| iii. Members approved the expansion of the proposed new events subject to securing additional external funding.
iv. Members directed officers to explore the continuation of the Crewe Art Trail through the painting of utility boxes in the town centre. |
