I moved to Crewe in December 2007 and I was astonished that a historic town like Crewe had no representative local government voice of its own. I believe it is important that Crewe should have a voice and that the needs of local people should be heard.
I spent 30 years working in the National Health Service until 2013 as a Registered Nurse and since 2013 I have worked as a qualified teacher specialising in humanities. I see every day the hopes of our next generation and I know how important education and training is for a successful future for them as individuals and for the wider community.
I was elected in 2013 and re-elected in 2015 as a town councillor and I hope to continue to represent all of the town’s electors. I would hope to represent people who often are not heard.
Being a history graduate, I particularly enjoy investigating British history. I would really like to see a Crewe museum developed as I believe that will promote a Crewe identity and civic pride. There is much to be proud of in Crewe and much more we can all do.
