Crewe Town Council announces Winter Response Fund

Crewe Town Council has created a Winter Response Fund in light of the current cost of living and energy crises.

By revisiting aspects of its community budget, the council has created a fund of £16,000, making funding awards to five local services that support those in our community most impacted in these difficult times.

A Crewe Town Council spokesperson commented:

“For those in our community who have the greatest need and face the greatest challenges created by the cost of living crisis, this fund will ensure the services that support them in various ways can be sustained through the winter.

We have funded projects and services at Chance Changing Lives, Motherwell, St. Andrew’s Church, St. Paul’s Centre and Wishing Well that provide warm spaces, social opportunities, hot food, information on meal planning and preparation, support and resources.

We are thankful for all those who work so hard to help those with the greatest need and we also hope that this fund will provide a sustainable future for these much needed services in Crewe.”

Crewe Town Council also funds Food Banks and Holiday Hunger projects in the town, as well as providing grants for community groups.
