By popular demand Krazy Races, the thrilling and free-to-attend national soapbox derby event, is returning to Crewe on Sunday 25th May 2025. Event organisers are excited to announce the launch of the search for the headline charity partner for the Crewe Krazy Races event!
In 2024, Krazy Races proudly supported two incredible headline charities, providing them with a platform to raise significant funds and increase their visibility within the local community. For 2025, the organisers, in collaboration with Crewe Town Council, are once again giving the community a chance to have their say in selecting the headline charity. Charities of all sizes are invited to apply, with the final decision to be made through a public vote.
Danny Scoffin, Head of Brand & Strategic Development at Krazy Races, commented:
“Last year, we had the privilege of working with two amazing local charities that truly enhanced the event, both on the day and in the lead-up to it. Our Krazy Races events are all about raising as much as we can for local causes, and we’re excited to see this year’s charity partner fully embrace the opportunity to raise significant funds.
We’re committed to working closely with our headline charity, integrating them into the event and providing every opportunity to maximise their fundraising. As this event is a celebration of Crewe, it’s only fitting that the decision is placed in the hands of the local community. We’re confident that Crewe residents will choose a charity they feel passionate about, and we’re looking forward to collaborating with the chosen charity in 2025.”
A representative from Crewe Town Council said:
“We are delighted to be welcoming Krazy Races to Crewe again in May 2025 and are excited to see a new group of soapbox creations compete! The event provides a not-to-be-missed opportunity for charities that make a difference to Crewe to express an interest in becoming a headline charity partner and raise vital funds for their causes. We have an amazing not-for-profit network in Crewe and we hope that the event will raise funds for the benefit of our community.”
The partnership with the headline charity will run from Thursday 20th February until two weeks after the event on 25th May, offering one lucky local charity the chance to raise money and awareness at the ‘Kraziest’ event in town!
Crewe Krazy Races charity partner application process opens today. Interested charities need to apply before midnight on the 2nd February for a chance to be chosen.

Criteria for charities;
- A not-for-profit charity
- Have a UK Registered Charity Number
- Located in the Crewe postcode area, with activities directly benefiting the people of Crewe
- Staff/volunteers able to attend the event on Sunday 25th May
- A good connection with local businesses to encourage them to enter a soapbox on your behalf
- A commitment to promote our event locally and on your website/ social media channels as well as through local PR & media.
