Cllr Brookfield (Allotment Lead for the Town Council) welcomed the news that the Allotment Federation has agreed in principle to accept a master lease for the eleven allotments in Crewe at their meeting on the 26th January.
Cllr Brookfield commented ‘this is really great news, we anticipate that the remainder of the 65k that has been allocated to improvements at the allotments in Crewe will be wisely spent. The agreement of a master lease will enable the Federation to issue sub-leases to individual sites. Sites not wishing to be a member of the Federation can also take a sub-lease, manage those sites and collect rents. If anyone would like to know more about how we are taking forward the allotments in Crewe then I’d encourage individual plot holders to contact the Council directly in order that we can update plot holders on a one-to-one basis.’
